Manganese-Decorated Redware Jar, ME origin, circa 1840, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, the surface decorated heavily-spattered manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: Recently found in a Scarborough, ME farmhouse. Chips and wear to base. Light wear to interior of rim. Minor surface wear. A small in-the-firing ping to midsection. H 7 5/8".
