Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher with Molded Stork and Human Motifs, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base and coggled geometric motifs to shoulder and base, decorated on the front with a molded and applied design of a stork composed of light-blue clay, with hand-incised details to eye, bill, neck, and wing. Molded and applied human figures in classical dress appear to the left and right. Cobalt banding to rim and base. Impressed "5" below rim. Excellent condition with only in-the-firing flaws, including a tiny base nick, a short line to base, and a fissure at lower handle terminal. H 14".
