Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird-and-Floral Decoration, New York State origin, probably Troy, NY, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird with ringed neck and dash-decorated body, perched on a distinctive, four-petaled flower in the George Lent style. A second, brushed flower appears to the right of the incised decoration. Brushed cobalt highlight to lower handle terminal. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., Fall 2022, lot 321. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 14".
