Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, attributed to Abial Price, Middletown Point, NJ or Taunton, MA, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a flower emanating from a group of leaves, flanked by wavy lines. Swag decoration above and below. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent decoration and size. A thin 3 1/2" crack from rim on front. A few rim chips. Some grease staining to surface. H 8 3/8".
