Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Impressed Decoration, Stamped "WARNE / S.AMBOY.N.JERSY," early 19th century, cylindrical jar with footed base and heavily-tooled shoulder, decorated with an impressed and iron-highlighted drape motif between the Thomas Warne maker's mark. Iron slip highlight to name, "WARNE." Desirable size and bold decoration. A 1 1/4" base chip. An in-the-firing chip (iron ping) to rim. Some minor in-the-firing flaws. H 11".
