Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Turkey Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," George Satterlee, Fort Edward, NY, circa 1859, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a turkey with striped body, standing on a stylized floral motif with spotted blossom. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Desirable decoration, rare on this size of vessel. Two tight horizontal cracks in handle. It is unclear whether a section of the handle is reglued or not. Spout chips. H 12".
