Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Brown Slip Decoration, CT origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and flared rim, profusely-decorated around the body with haphazard brushwork in dark-brown slip under a clear salt glaze. Daubed slip decoration to top of rim and interior of rim. Excellent condition with a chip to exterior of rim. H 7 3/4".
