One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and open loop handles, brush-decorated with a spotted drape motif to the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A crack and small chip to proper left handle. A small rim chip to reverse. Two small base chips, one of which is glazed over. Two short vertical lines to base on proper left side of jar. A small in-the-firing ping below handle on proper left side. Staining to surface. H 10 3/4".
