One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO / PALATINE / W.VA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring a stenciled design of a pear surrounded by a Palatine maker's stenciling. A 3 1/2" hairline from rim on proper left side of jar. A 2 1/4" Y-shaped surface line on underside, not visible on interior. An in-the-firing contact mark beside maker's mark. H 9 7/8".
