Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Cross Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring a diagonally-stenciled cross motif between freehand stripes in unusual purple-accented cobalt slip. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 8 1/4".
