Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS. / MANUFACTURER / NEW GENEVA / PA," circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, featuring R.T. Williams maker's stenciling below two wavy freehand stripes. Straight freehand stripe decoration below rim and at base. Base with freehand "6" flanked by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 2 3/8" flake to proper left handle. Two small chips to proper right handle. Two faint lines to reverse, measuring approximately 5 1/2" and 4", not visible on interior. Some minor wear and minor residue to surface. A minor glazed-over ping to reverse. H 16 3/4".
