Scarce Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jar with combed midsection, tooled shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with three freehand stripes extending completely around the jar's circumference. A lesser-seen, earlier-period striper. Very nice condition. Interior of rim with two minor chips, a very minor glazed-over chip, and two very minor in-the-firing surface fissures. Shoulder minor with a few very minor nicks. H 8 1/4".
