Three Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Connecticut origin, mid-to-late 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jug stamped "S. RISLEY / NORWICH," with brushed and slip-trailed floral motif above a cobalt-script "2;" a two-gallon crock stamped "S.B. BOSWORTH. / HARTFORD CT.," with stylized diagonal floral motif; and a five-gallon crock stamped "S.L. PEWTRESS / NEW HAVEN, CONN.," with an abstract slip-trailed foliate motif accented with spots. Risley jug with small chips and hairlines, contact marks to decoration, and small, uncolored filled spot on left side. Bosworth crock with a few rim chips, 6" and 7" cracks from rim on reverse, small handle chips, 4" line from base on front, and 2 1/2" chip to base. Pewtress crock with rim chips, small, glazed-over chip to left handle, light flaking to surface, and some flaking to underside. H (of jug) 12 3/4".
