Three Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decorations, Northeastern Origin, circa 1880-1890, a two-gallon jug stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY.," decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch; together with a three-gallon crock stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD" and a five-gallon crock stamped "S.B. BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," both with brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird perched on the stem of a plant. West Troy jug with some rim chips, thins lines at spout and base, and 8" x-shaped crack emanating from colored kiln burst on right. Seymour & Bosworth crock with large areas of restoration throughout, not affecting cobalt decoration, and large chip and cracks on underside, part of one extending 3" up front right. S. B. Bosworth crock with rim chips, rough 1" contact mark on front rim, several thin lines, and 8 1/2" crack on left. Both Hartford crocks with some fry to cobalt. Jug with fry to cobalt, restoration to surface, not affecting decoration, some exfoliation to underside, and a tiny nick to spout. Crock with light fry to cobalt, rim chips, staining and surface lines at base on reverse, and a Y-shaped line at base on reverse, continuing a short distance onto underside. H (of jug) 14 3/4".
