Five-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Applied Grapevine Decoration, Signed and Dated "Michael A. Crocker / 9-01 / Handmade iN / Lula, Ga. U.S.A.," semi-ovoid jar with flattened rim and ribbed strap handles, decorated around the shoulder with an applied and cobalt-highlighted grapevine design. Surface covered in mottled bluish-olive alkaline glaze. Incised signature and date on underside. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 15 7/8".
