Glazed Stoneware Coffeepot with Tin Attachments and Cast Iron Handle, Stamped "PAT. JUN, 27, 1876, F. SCHIFFERLE, ST. LOUIS, MO," circa 1876, molded coffeepot with reddish-brown glaze, featuring a domed tin lid with wooden finial, a cast iron handle attached with tin banding, and tin band around spout. One of the "Culinary Vessels" Fridolin Schifferle, a St. Louis producer of tin and other metal work, patented in 1876, with the ceramic objects presumably being made at some local pottery for him to fit with tin. Band at base impressed with Schifferle maker's mark and patent date. Excellent condition with minor surface wear, the finial somewhat loose. H 10".
