Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Howe & Clark, Athens, NY, circa 1805-1813, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed design of a flower with with spotted interior. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Small base chips. An approximately 4 1/2" thin, diagonal crack near midsection on front. Some staining. In-the-firing flaws including some small flakes to front, a dent to proper left side of jug's front, and a large in-the-firing contact mark at base on reverse. H 12 3/4".
