Scarce Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher with Freehand and Stenciled Motifs, attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and dramatically-flared collar, featuring a stenciled geometric banner motif between freehand stripes. Freehand dash decoration to sides of collar and diagonal brushwork along the spout. Cobalt highlight to upper terminal. Upper collar/ rim area misshapen on proper right side. Rim and spout chips. A long, thin in-the-firing flake at base on reverse. A 1 1/4" line from rim on front. H 8 5/8".
