Twenty-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / AGENTS / GREENSBORO / PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring unusual Hamilton & Jones "AGENTS" stenciling within a squared foliate border. Stenciled "20" above and below. Includes old wooden lid. Exceptional size. Difficult-to-find excellent condition with some very faint crazing to proper right handle and minor chipping to bottom edge of rim on reverse. H 25".
