Two Pieces of Utilitarian Pottery, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, a lead-glazed redware jar with manganese decoration and original lid, Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840; paired with a one-gallon crock with stylized cobalt foliate decoration on one side, inscribed "1 1/2" in cobalt on reverse, Flemington, NJ origin, circa 1880. Redware jar with a 1 5/8" chip to interior of rim, spots of wear to rim, scratches and wear throughout glaze on body of jar, the lid with small chips to finial and a 1 1/8" filled and colored flake at edge. Crock in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of redware jar) 10 3/4".
