Extremely Rare Pair of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Presentation Flowerpots, Inscribed in Cobalt ""E.F.F." and "R.F.C.," Western PA origin, circa 1865-1880, each of pedestal-based form with flaring, heavily-crimped rims, each featuring the brushed cobalt initials, "E.F.F." and "R.F.C." Possibly made as wedding gifts with the initials referring to the bride and groom, this pair is noteworthy for a number of reasons, including their form, size, origin, unusual initialed inscriptions, and survival as a matching set. One with rim chips and tight cracks on underside extending onto base. The other in excellent condition with minor rim chips. H (of each) 4 5/8".
