Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bowl with Stenciled Thistle Motif, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1870, flare-rimmed form with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with three inverted thistle motifs across the front. Desirable form featuring one of the region's most prized stenciled images. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Excellent condition with very minor surface wear and minor staining. Diam. 8 3/4" ; H 5 3/4".
