Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, second half 19th century, a six-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed daisy and cobalt-script "6" flanked by flourishes, OH origin, circa 1880; paired with a four-gallon ovoid jar with brushed foliate motifs, stripes, and a freehand "4" at base, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865. Six-gallon crock with 1 7/8" chip to exterior of chip and a minor chip to interior of rim, a 1 3/4" hairline from rim on right side of crock's front, Small chips to one handle and a 1 5/8" flake to opposite handle, and minor staining to reverse. Four-gallon jar with fry to cobalt, staining to surface, a rim chip, a small chip to inner rim for lid, a base chip, a 2 1/4" Y-shaped line below one handle, and a chip and wear to each handle. H (of taller) 14 3/4".
