Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, all of cylindrical form, a two-gallon advertising jug with stylized foliate decoration, stamped "JOHN HARTNETT / 76 FRONT ST / GLAUCESTER MASS;" a one-gallon jug with brushed floral decoration, stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON, VT.;" and a one-gallon jug with brushed and slip-trailed floral decoration, Cortland, NY origin. Glaucester jug with two spout chips, a small area of fry to cobalt, and some minor surface wear. Burlington jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Cortland jug with two reglued and colored breaks in handle, a 7" vertical line to side, fry to cobalt, an in-the-firing ping to underside at edge, and some minor in-the-firing flaws to surface. H (of tallest) 12 3/8".
