Three Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, New England origin, 19th century, a one-and-a-half-gallon cake crock with stylized slip-trailed floral decoration, stamped "FRANK B. NORTON / WORCESTER MASS.," circa 1870; a three-gallon crock with brushed floral decoration, stamped "NORTON & FENTON, / East Bennington, Vt," circa 1844-1847; and a three-gallon jar with brushed floral decoration, stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD. / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1856-1867. Cake crock with long crack from rim on reverse, fry to cobalt, and staining to surface. Norton and Fenton crock with crack from rim on reverse, forming a Y on underside and extending partway up side below one handle. This crock as an old wire securing the rim, rust staining, a crayon notation at the shoulder, and a few rim chips. Burlington jar with a long crack from on reverse, an in-the-firing contact mark at base on reverse, a short line from rim on reverse, a minor chip to inner rim for lid, and residue to surface.
