Rare Large-Sized Redware Cream Pitcher, attributed to J. Eberly & Co. or S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base and flared collar, the lead-glazed surface decorated with bold streaks of copper and manganese under a clear lead glaze. Exceptional size and strong color. Surviving spittoons featuring this glaze scheme and bearing a J. Eberly & Co. maker's mark indicate this pitcher is likely an Eberly example. Light surface wear to midsection. Some wear to handle. A few small glaze flakes to rim. H 7 1/2".
