Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Misspelled Maker's Mark, Stenciled "A.P. Donoghho,(sic) / Parkersburg, W.Va.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with broad, flattened "wax sealer" rim, featuring diagonal A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling with error replacing the "a" for a second "o." Minor surface wear. Two minor, adjacent in-the-firing chips to underside at edge. A small chip to interior of rim. Tiny nicks to inner wax sealer rim. A 1 1/2" surface line to underside of rim, including a tiny chip and minor nick. Two minor in-the-firing nicks to underside at edge. Some short, glazed-over vertical lines at base. H 8 3/8".
