Rare Redware Loaf Dish with Latticework Slip Decoration, PA origin, probably Philadelphia, late 18th or early 19th century, rectangular form with rounded corners, the lead-glazed surface elaborately-decorated with crossing wavy trails of yellow slip. Featuring a lesser-seen slip design, this work is among the most heavily-decorated American redware loaf dishes to come to auction in years. Rim chips. A few flakes to interior. Exfoliation on the unglazed reverse of the dish. Provenance: Ex-Collection Barry Cohen, New York, NY; Skinner, Inc. Dimensions: 13 1/2" x 11 1/2".
