Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Newberry, SC Advertising, attributed to Jesse P. Bodie, Kirksey's Crossroads, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with tapered shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a glossy green alkaline glaze. Shoulder impressed with merchant advertising for "WISKEMAN & WILBER / NEWBERRY, S.C." Excellent condition with minor chipping to base. H 11".
