Five Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a three-gallon crock, stamped "A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON VT," a three-gallon crock, stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.;" a four-gallon unmarked crock; a four-gallon crock, stamped "F. WOODWORTH / BURLINGTON, VT;" and a five-gallon crock, stamped "S.B. BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," CT origin. Ballard crock with significant restoration, some of which has started to peel. New York Stoneware Co. crock with rim chips and cracks to bottom half of reverse, one of which continues onto underside. Unmarked crock with stainging throughout and greenish residue to interior. Woodworth crock with a top-to-bottom crack from rim on on reverse, staining, and fry to cobalt. Bosworth crock in excellent condition with light water glass staining to exterior and water glass staining to interior. H (of tallest) 12 1/8".
