Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, PA origin, circa 1875, a spittoon with brushed swag and flower bud decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA; paired with a two-gallon cake crock with brushed drooping flower decoration the front and reverse, attributed to Ralph J. Grier, Chester County, PA. Spittoon with small, recessed hole in underside, two glazed-over base chips, one post-firing base chip, a tiny in-the-firing nick to top edge, and a small chip to opening in top. Cake crock in excellent condition with a tiny nick to one handle. Dimensions (of spittoon): L 8" x H 4" ; Dimensions (of cake crock): L 11 3/4" x 6 7/8".
