Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with McKeesport, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "BUSCH & SCHNITZER. / 134 / MARKET ST. / McKEESPORT. / PA." Freehand line and swag motifs above. Base with stenciled "3" flanked by stenciled flourishes, along with freehand stripes above and below. Cobalt highlight to upper handle terminal. Very nice condition with a glazed-over chip near base on front, a small piece of adhered clay to shoulder on front, a few other minor in-the-firing flaws, some light surface wear, and a small spot of yellow house paint to right side. H 16".
