Fine Crimped-Rim Redware Jar with Elaborate Multi-Colored Slip Decoration, PA origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, concave shoulder, and crimped rim, decorated in slip-trailed yellow-and-black slip with an elaborate stylized flower blossom. Light-green copper slip stripe decoration above and below. Coggled accents to rim and shoulder. Lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Exceptional form with outstanding decoration. A related jar by the same maker is currently on display at The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia, PA. Provenance: Collection of Lewis Fenley "Dusty" Parker. Small rim chips and wear to rim. Some small losses to slip. H 5 3/8".
