Rare Moravian Copper-Glazed Redware Squirrel Bottle, Salem, NC origin, circa 1801-1829, molded in the form of a standing squirrel feeding on a nut atop an oval base, the surface covered in a green lead-and-copper glaze. Significant (possibly complete) restoration to base including feet. Large areas of glaze restoration on figure, primarily along belly and one side. A restored spout chip. Loss to one ear. Other surface wear. H 8".
