Two One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Alexandria, VA Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, both with matching freehand decoration and the stenciled advertising, "E.J. MILLER & SON / DEALERS IN / CHINA AND / GLASS WARE. / ALEXANDRIA. VA." Shorter with a restored hole in underside, an in-the-firing contact mark to front, and a 5 1/2" hairline to side. Taller with partially sealed cracks from rim, staining/discoloration, and some surface wear. H (of shorter) 11 3/8".
