Two Pieces of Bell Family Pottery, PA and VA origin, second half 19th century, a dipped-slip canning jar with salt glaze, stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va.;" circa 1875; paired with a redware jar with lead-and-manganese-glazed interior, stamped "JOHN W. BELL / Waynesboro, Pa," circa 1880-1895. Solomon Bell jar with a small rim chip and a few minor rim nicks. John W. Bell jar with a 1 7/8" base chip on reverse, a 1 1/4" in-the-firing flake to top of rim, and two minor chips to bottom edge of rim. H (of Solomon Bell jar) 8 1/4".
