Three Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jars, Western PA or WV origin, circa 1875, all of cylindrical form, a two-gallon jar, diagonally-stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Parkersburg, W.Va." with diagonally-stenciled band above; a two-gallon jar with small, stenciled tulip and freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / MANUFACTURERS. / GREENSBORO. / PA.;" and a one-gallon advertising jar with freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "From / W.D. Cooper & Bro. / No 7 / Diamond / Pittsburgh." Hamilton & Jones jar with a small chip and minor nicks to shoulder molding, some light wear to cobalt stenciling, and some bubbling to cobalt base, including minor traces of orange paint. Donaghho jar with a small chip and light wear to interior of rim, some in-the-firing salt residue to base, and some minor traces of water glass staining. Cooper jar with a small, glazed-over base chip and over-salting to cobalt. H (of tallest) 12".
