Three Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Ballardvale, MA origin, circa 1885, all of cylindrical form, measuring six quarts, two gallons, and three gallons, each with slip-trailed bird-on-branch motif. Six-quart crock with small chips to interior of rim, a small in-the-firing ping to interior shoulder, a base chip, a small chip and tiny nick to one handle, and a small chip and minor wear to opposite handle. Two-gallon crock with chips to interior of rim, a shallow chip to exterior of rim, minor surface wear at base on reverse, a 7/8" surface chip filled with plaster at base on reverse, and a minor chip to one handle. Three-gallon crock with two chips to one handle, a 4" inverted Y-shaped line descending from rim through same handle, a 4 1/8" inverted Y-shaped line descending from rim through opposite handle, a minor base chip on reverse, a chip to interior of rim, and a small in-the-firing iron ping to rim on reverse.
