Scarce Collection of Seventeen Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Miniatures, attributed to the Norton Family, Bennington, VT, fourth quarter 19th century, sixteen Albany-slip-glazed jugs in total, five of which are inscribed "Little Brown Jug;" the remaining jugs incised with the following inscriptions: "1492 / Columbus / 1892," "Columbus / 1492-1892," "Aug 16th / 1877 / + / 1777," "Imperial Cologne," "Litte Brown Jug / 1877," "Little Brown Jug / 1876," "1777 / Little Edith / 1877," "Cottage City / Jug," "Poultney / Industrial / 1882," "Centennial / July 4th / 1876," and "C.D. Austin & Co / 190 Main St / Druggists." Together with one lidded jar, incised "Cream Tartar." Two Little Brown Jugs with reglued handles. One Little Brown Jug with small spout chip. One Little Brown Jug in excellent condition. One Little Brown Jug with reglued handle, section of handle missing, and spout chips. "Litte Brown Jug / 1877" with reglued shoulder area and handle. " One Columbus jug with wear to spout, base chips, and an in-the-firing flake to base. Other Columbus jug with a few tiny base nicks and a minuscule spout nick. "Imperial Cologne" jug in excellent condition. "Aug 16th / 1877 / + / 1777" with restored handle. "Little Brown Jug 1876" in excellent condition. "Little Edith" jug with chipping to base on reverse.
