Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1980, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, ears, nose, chin, and crooked mouth with kaolin teeth. Face assumes a sideways stare. Surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 11 1/8".
