Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Dog's Head Pitcher, Stamped "GB," probably White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, molded pitcher with spout in the form of a dog's head with pointed ears and pierced snout, decorated with cobalt highlights to the head and collar. Underside impressed with oval "GB" stamp, stylistically similar to the stamp found on the bottom of Tode Brothers condiment jars from Manhattan, NY. Exceptional form. An example produced from the same mold sold in Crocker Farm's August 2021 auction, lot 143. A small chip to one ear. A small chip to base. A small chip to underside at edge. A 2" diagonal hairline from edge of opening. H 8 3/4".
