Three Pieces of Pruden Family Stoneware with Cobalt Decoration, Elizabethtown, NJ origin, 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed floral motif on one side, the reverse inscribed "one" in cobalt below the impressed stamp, "J.M. PRUDEN / ELIZ-TOWN NJ;" a two-gallon cylindrical jug with stylized slip-trailed floral motif, stamped "JM. PRUDEN / ELIZ-TOWN NJ;" and a two-gallon ovoid jar, decorated on each side with a brushed "2" and flourishes, attributed to the Pruden family, Elizabethtown, NJ. One-gallon crock with chips to handle, a small surface line to right of floral decoration, a large in-the-firing contact mark to one side, and a minor rim chip. Jug in excellent condition with a tiny glazed-over nick to spout and staining. Two-gallon jar with rim chips, a large crack from rim, and an iron ping to shoulder. H (of tallest) 13 1/2".
