Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, probably NJ origin, circa 1820, both of ovoid form with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, one with brushed stylized floral motif, probably Bissett Family, Old Bridge, NJ, the other with brushed floral motif on front and scalloped line decoration on reverse. Provenance: Taller jar is ex-Sim Collection, the underside with old labels reading, "Oldbridge / Sim Coll. / 2". Taller with an iron ping to rim, three short, faint lines to rim, very minor in-the-firing chipping to rim, and a smooth in-the-firing contact mark to one side. Other jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of taller) 9 1/8".
