Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, first quarter 19th century, a three-gallon ovoid jar with open handles and spotted drape motif on front and reverse, attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, paired with a two-gallon ovoid jug with related decoration, NJ or Manhattan origin. Jar with Y-shaped crack on underside forming a large cross-shaped crack at base, surface wear, and various in-the-firing flaws. Jug in excellent condition with in-the-firing contact marks and minor traces of old green paint to surface. H (of jar) 13 1/2".
