Three Slip-Decorated Stoneware Jars, New Jersey origin, first quarter 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jar with coggled decoration and abstract cobalt brushwork, a one-gallon ovoid jar with stylized cobalt floral motifs on the front and reverse, attributed to the Bissett family, Old Bridge, NJ, and a three-gallon jar with stylized purplish-slip floral motifs on the front and reverse, attributed to the Bissett family, Old Bridge, NJ. Coggled jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with minor in-the-firing chipping to base and a small cross-shaped line to midsection. Other one-gallon jar in very nice condition with an in-the-firing flake to one handle and a minor base nick. Tallest with a 2" chip to exterior of rim and two smaller chips to interior of rim. H (of tallest) 12 1/4".
