Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt "Fishing Lure" Decoration, OH origin, circa 1875, a three-gallon semi-ovoid churn with four-gallon cylindrical crock, both with slip-trailed floral designs often referred to among collectors as a fishing lure. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA. Churn in excellent condition with some staining to exterior, water glass staining to interior, and a small chip to inner rim for lid. Crock with two chips to each handle, edge wear to each handle, and some staining. H (of churn) 13 5/8".
