Two Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Bird Decorations, New York State origin, circa 1875, a three-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed chicken pecking corn motif, bearing the unusual stamp "12 LBS." at shoulder, paired with a five-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed bird-on-branch motif, stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY." Chicken crock with a long, in-the-firing line around much of base, rim chips, some fry to cobalt, light exfoliation at base on front, and water glass staining on interior, two minor chips to one handle, minor wear to opposite handle, and staining to reverse/left side. West Troy crock with a few rim chips, exfoliation at base extending from reverse to left side of crock, a large Y-shaped hairline reverse, a smaller Y-shaped line to front, and minor staining. H (of larger) 12 5/8".
