Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Vine Decoration, Stamped "T.H. WILLSON & CO / HARRISBURG.PA,," circa 1852-1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, artistically-decorated with a symmetrical slip-trailed vine motif. Prized early-period Harrisburg maker, scarce slip-trailed treatment, and excellent color. Excellent condition with some light surface crazing to base on exterior, not visible on interior, as well as some staining to surface. Minor wear to cobalt. H 10 1/4".
