Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped " P. MUGLER & CO. / BUFFALO. N Y.," circa 1848-1852, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large brushed design of a three different tulips emanating from a central stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a few minor base chips, a 1" line at base on reverse, a small in-the-firing iron ping to reverse, and some staining. H 14".
