One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.," circa 1835, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, decorated on the front with a flowering vine motif and on the reverse with five foliate devices around the shoulder. Excellent condition with a small base chip and minor surface wear. H 11 1/2".
